General Information
Christmas in the Park

Each year Paducah Power System sponsors a magnificent display of Christmas lights in the City of Paducah’s Noble Park. In 1997, "Christmas in the Park" began with lights that were originally donated from the late "Doc" Hicks and Jimmy Kinsey. Both men had Christmas displays at their homes for many years. Each year Paducah Power System has continued adding to the decorations. In 2001, PPS purchased the lighting display that was once seen in Metropolis, Illinois. This purchase, along with several donated exhibits from Marshall County Battery & Golf Cars, Inc., has expanded the Christmas extravaganza to a breathtaking display. The holiday lights are illuminated the Friday following Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.

Paducah Power System employees along with their families, friends, and other volunteers collect can goods and cash for needy families in the Paducah area. The donations are strictly voluntary, yet greatly appreciated. All proceeds go to Family Services, Paducah Cooperative Ministries, and the Salvation Army.

If you have a business, civic group, church or school organization, of four or more persons and wish to work as a host manning the collection booth, please contact Cindy James cjames@paducahpower.com.  Your group will then be assigned a date for Christmas in The Park.
