General Information
Public Power Week

Public Power Week is celebrated nationally each year during the first week of October.  Utilities arrange educational and informational events during this week familiarizing the public with the benefits of local power facilities.  Paducah Power System, which has been publicly owned since 1961, joins the other publicly owned electric utilities throughout the United States to observe Public Power Week. As a community-owned electric utility, Paducah Power System organizes a day of appreciation for our municipal customers with an educational and fun-filled celebration.  The merriment consists of a cook-out, bucket rides, prizes and live remotes by local radio stations. The next Public Power picnic is Thursday, October 7th in front of the Paducah Power System building.  All customers and friends of PPS are invited.
